The Tennessee Titans are excited about the depth they have at wide receiver. For the first time in what feels like forever, they'll enter training camp five-deep at the position. Brian Daboll possesses a wealth of pass-catching resources at his disposal to invest in quarterback Cam Ward.
It's a rare problem for an organization that has historically struggled to find wide receiver talent. After finally finding a franchise wideout in A.J. Brown, he was traded before the conclusion of his rookie contract. It'll feel completely different at camp this season.
Fourth overall pick Carnell Tate generated significant buzz at OTAs and minicamp. The Titans also added Wan'Dale Robinson via a four-year, $70 million contract in free agency. With Calvin Ridley, Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor rounding out the room, Daboll has a first-world problem to sort through at receiver.
Titans entering training camp with historical amount of depth at wide receiver
The expectation is that Tate and Robinson will be the Titans' top two receivers. After all, they're who the Titans have the most invested in at wideout. Tate is a rookie top-five pick, and Robinson was targeted by Mike Borgonzi in free agency due to his existing relationship with Daboll.
Sorting through the rest of the depth chart should occur via training camp battles. Ridley is back on a reduced contract after suffering a season-ending injury in 2025. Dike and Ayomanor are sophomores tasked with taking developmental steps forward.
Dike is flexible enough to replace Ridley or Robinson in three receiver sets. Ayomanor is more of a boundary receiver who could enter the lineup, giving Tate the freedom to move around the formation. Different combinations are available to Daboll across various personnel packages.
Tate and Robinson will be heavily involved. How Ridley, Ayomanor, and Dike compete for reps should initially be determined by how they perform at training camp. The Titans aren't used to having so many talented wideouts at their disposal. It's all about surrounding Ward with the right environment that promotes growth and elevation.
The Titans have never been so deep at wide receiver. It's an excellent problem to have.
