The Tennessee Titans are entering the 2025 NFL Draft with massive needs at quarterback, wide receiver, and EDGE. The QB spot will be addressed when Mike Borgonzi selects Cam Ward at No. 1 overall. The expectation is the Titans will follow the Ward pick with a receiver or pass rusher at No. 35 overall.

The draft rarely goes exactly to fans' expectations, however. If you've been following along with the Titans' pre-draft visits, they've done a ton of homework on Day Two prospects at varying positions. It strongly suggests Borgonzi is considering trading down in the second round to recoup the third-round selection the organization lacks as a result of the L'Jarius Sneed trade.

It also suggests the Titans may target some positions earlier than most anticipate. Taking pre-draft visit trends into consideration, we've identified positions the Titans may draft earlier than expected.

Safety

The Titans aren't as well set-up at safety as most believe. Amani Hooker is entering a contract year and there's no telling whether or not Borgonzi possesses interest in re-signing him beyond 2025. Hooker is an extremely talented defender, but we shouldn't make assumptions. For example, he's been injury prone throughout his career and Borgonzi clearly places emphasis on durability, based on the players he targeted in free agency.

The other starter at safety is Xavier Woods, a near 30-year-old short-term solution. The Titans recently hosted Notre Dame safety Xavier Watts on a visit, who recorded 13 interceptions in 2023-24.

Interior defensive line

The Titans have Jeffery Simmons and T'Vondre Sweat at defensive tackle. They also have depth in the form of Keondre Coburn and Sebastian Joseph-Day. So why do they keep hosting Day Two defensive tackles on pre-draft visits?

Tennessee Volunteers defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott is coming to Nashville for a visit. The Titans have also been linked to South Carolina's TJ Sanders. Perhaps Borgonzi doesn't view Simmons as the superstar player local media often makes him out to be.

Offensive line

We're going broad with the "offensive line" designation because the Titans have shown interest in both offensive tackles and guards alike. On the surface, the Titans have a clear-cut starting five after adding Dan Moore Jr. and Kevin Zeitler in free agency.

There are questions though. Starting center Lloyd Cushenberry is recovering from a terrible season-ending Achilles injury. Zeitler is a 35-year-old on a one-year contract. Moore Jr. signed a bloated deal and the Titans have still shown interest in swing tackles just in case he fails to live up. William & Mary offensive tackle Charles Grant is one of Tennessee's 30 pre-draft visits, and he's expected to be drafted in the second or third round.
