The Tennessee Titans continue to churn over their cornerback despite already investing more than $110 million at the position earlier this offseason. On Saturday, the team released undrafted free agent Jeadyn Lukus and signed veteran cornerback Mario Goodrich, the team announced. Goodrich will now attempt to compete for a 53-man roster spot at training camp.
General manager Mike Borgonzi entered free agency desperately needing to revamp at cornerback. So he signed Alontae Taylor to a three-year, $58 million contract. Borgonzi also added Cor'Dale Flott on a three-year, $45 million deal. Taylor and Flott will be Robert Saleh's boundary starters in 2026.
The Titans also signed Joshua Williams to be the top cornerback reserve. Borgonzi and Saleh have still been dissatisfied with the back-end depth in the secondary. Goodrich becomes the second veteran cornerback to sign with the Titans this week, following the addition of Nazeeh Johnson.
Titans churn cornerback position at training camp by signing Mario Goodrich
Goodrich initially entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Clemson after the 2022 NFL Draft. He's been an NFL journeyman ever since, finding ways to stick around. The former Tigers standout has also endured two separate stints with the Birmingham Stallions of the United Football League.
The Titans signed three undrafted free agent cornerbacks following the 2026 NFL Draft. Two of them have already been released after just a small handful of training camp practices, with Lukus and Latrell McCutchin having been cut to make room for Johnson and now Goodrich. Rookie undrafted corner Jalen McMurray of Tennessee is the last man standing from the original group.
The Titans' top four cornerbacks are obvious, with Taylor, Flott, Marcus Harris, and Williams locked into their roles. Micah Robinson and Keydrain Calligan are among the returning in-house options competing for the final spot or two. Johnson and Goodrich add additional veteran competition to the position battle.
Goodrich appeared in 10 contests during the 2026 UFL season. He registered 13 tackles, one interception, and five pass breakups. Goodrich will attempt to bring experience and competitiveness to the Titans' 53-man roster battle at cornerback.
