The Tennessee Titans were aggressive in free agency to completely revamp the cornerback room. General manager Mike Borgonzi signed Alontae Taylor and Cor'Dale Flott to lucrative contracts to serve as the new starters. Behind them, the Titans are searching for someone to emerge as depth options outside.

The Titans also added Johsua Williams, who Borgonzi knows from their time together with the Kansas City Chiefs. Williams won't be handed anything, and there's legitimate competition at cornerback heading into training camp. One totally unknown name may be positioned to shake-up the depth chart.

Keydrain Calligan is a sophomore undrafted free agent who received some consistent praise from Titans reporters in attendance at OTAs and minicamp. With the Titans hoping for depth options to emerge at cornerback, Calligan will receive a fair opportunity to compete for a 53-man roster spot. Don't be surprised if he emerges as a training camp surprise.

Titans CB Keydrain Calligan could emerge as training camp surprise

Calligan originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent last offseason. He played college football at three different programs, starting at Louisiana-Monroe and finishing Southeastern Louisiana, with a stop at Jackson State in between. Calligan bounced around with the Houston Texans, Seattle Seahawks, and Indianapolis Colts as a rookie in 2025 before joining the Titans' practice squad in November. He re-signed with Tennessee via a futures/reserve contract earlier this offseason.

"Cornerback Keydrain Calligan is someone who I take mental note of at least once per practice right now," Easton Freeze noted after an open Titans practice at OTAs. "Aside from being on the all-name team, he continues to get his hands near or on the ball in team period. In a CB room with plenty of space for competition, he definitely seems to be helping himself."

The Titans need cornerback depth behind Taylor and Flott, and nickel corner Marcus Harris, too. Calligan will enter training camp after impressing the coaching staff at OTAs and minicamp. A strong training showing period could have Calligan pushing Williams and Micah Robinson for reserve reps at cornerback.
