Tennessee Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi will enter the upcoming offseason needing to acquire multiple impact players at premium positions. The 1-10 Titans are currently slated to earn the No. 1 overall selection for a second straight NFL Draft. One of Borgonzi's biggest needs will be at EDGE rusher.
If the Titans own the top selection for a second consecutive draft, they'll possess multiple options. Borgonzi could trade the pick to a QB-needy team for a king's ransom. Borgonzi could also opt to simply select the best non-quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Borgonzi opted for the latter in The Athletic's latest NFL mock draft. The Titans selected Ohio State hybrid EDGE/LB Arvell Reese at No. 1 overall in Nick Baumgardner's recent mock scenario.
Titans finally land franchise pass rusher in latest NFL mock draft
"Reese has split his time almost evenly between playing in the box and on the edge this season, and he’s been equally destructive across the board," Baumgardner wrote. "This is the 2026 NFL Draft’s best Micah Parsons clone. The data is limited, but Reese’s ceiling looks incredible."
The Titans currently don't roster any guaranteed long-term solutions at EDGE heading into next season. Veteran pass rusher Arden Key is on an expiring contract. Key has logged 2.5 sacks in Tennessee's previous two games, but has often been miscast as the team's top pass-rushing threat on the edge.
Rookie second-round pick Femi Oladejo remains on IR with a serious injury. Oladejo may return prior to the conclusion of the campaign, but his status remains up in the air. He's endured a disappointing rookie season and the Titans can't enter 2026 overly reliant on his development.
Borgonzi also made the decision to trade veteran EDGE Dre'Mont Jones earlier this season. Jones was on a one-year expiring contract anyway. The Titans did well to receive draft-pick compensation in exchange for him.
EDGE is a big-time need for the Titans and it'll probably require multiple additions this offseason. Reese has been a dynamic pass-rushing prospect for the Buckeyes this season. Reese would immediately address a positional requirement in Tennessee.
