The Tennessee Titans are in fire sale mode, as they are taking trade offers on everything that isn't nailed down. The Titans continued to offload veterans in the name of getting back draft picks, which brought an end to the tenure of versatile pass rusher Dre'Mont Jones.

Just a few weeks after parting ways with two cornerbacks by trading Jarvis Brownlee Jr. and Roger McCreary to the New York Jets and Los Angeles Rams, respectively, the Titans sent Jones away to a team that is trying to pull itself back up and get back into the playoff picture.

Jones has been traded to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a conditional fifth-round pick that could eventually become a fourth-rounder if certain conditions are met. It remains to be seen what those conditions are, but this trade will make an already weak Titans defense even worse.

Jones' two big traits are versatility and consistency. Despite the fact that he has often played at close to 280 pounds in his career, the former Ohio State defensive tackle can be deployed inside as a traditional 3-tech lineman or outside as a stand-up pass rusher who can get to the quarterback.

Jones, who has recorded 35 sacks in a seven-year career that also included a four-year stop with the Denver Broncos and two-year journey with the Seattle Seahawks, has tallied at least 4.0 and no more than 6.5 sacks in every season since 2020. With the Titans, Jones has 4.5 sacks in seven games.

Jones will join a paper-thin Ravens pass rush that has been forced to start rookie Mike Green due to a lack of depth. While the addition of Jones and the return of Lamar Jackson have invigorated Baltimore, Tennessee will get a pick back for a player who was not going to be a part of the long-term solution.

With the Titans slowly careening their way towards another season as one of the worst teams in the NFL, trading Jones will give Mike Borgonzi yet another draft pick to add to his stockpile. Dennard Wilson, however, loses yet another starting talent as he tries to keep this unit together.
