Hope springs eternal in the NFL, which is why Tennessee Titans fans have already begun to glance towards free agency and the 2026 NFL Draft. A key offseason awaits general manager Mike Borgonzi, who must overturn the roster once again.

Entering Week 8, the Titans are slated to own the No. 4 overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft. There are still nine (grueling) games left on the Titans' 2025 schedule, meaning there's plenty of opportunity for their draft position to improve.

While nothing is certain in the NFL, when you look at the teams left on the schedule, there is a 67.6% chance that the franchise ends up with a top-5 pick in the draft, according to predictive data presented by Pro Football Network.

Miserable 2025 Titans are almost locked into their 2026 NFL Draft positioning after seven lackluster weeks

The aforementioned PFN tool comes up with a few different projections for NFL teams. Entering Week 8, these are their season odds for the Titans:

Projected wins: 4.8
1st overall pick: 14.8% (third behind the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins)
Top-2 pick: 31.6%
Top-3 pick: 46%
Top-5 pick: 67.6%
Top-10 pick: 91.9%

There is obviously no guarantee that the Titans' remaining games will go exactly how we expect them to. However, their current projection expects the Titans to win three of their last 10 games, which would be a rate the team has sadly not achieved in years.

It is much more likely that the Titans underperform in these projections as they continue to find new ways to lose. Even if the Titans do overachieve and win a handful of games, any team with five-or-fewer wins last season drafted inside the top-10.

The Titans are in a win-win scenario. Any remaining wins would probably be the result of a strong performance by rookie quarterback Cam Ward, which would do wonders for his development and confidence. Meanwhile, every loss draws them closer and closer toward a better draft pick, which can be used to help Ward in 2026.

It is a brutal, gross, depressing time to be a die-hard Titans fan, but an NFL machine that is designed for parity rolls forward nonetheless. That means that if the front office makes the right choices and maximizes their vast resources this offseason, they can quickly find themselves on the upswing. For fans that need that hit of dopamine, keep following along and hope that the team's recent success with draft picks like Ward, Chimere Dike, Elic Ayomanor, and Gunnar Helm are a positive sign of things to come.
