The Tennessee Titans' offense should be more talented and better coached this season, and it has a lot of fans excited to see how that benefits second-year quarterback Cam Ward.

There has been a lot of good conversation around new coaches and players like Brian Daboll, Shea Tierney, Carmen Bracillo, Carnell Tate, Wan'Dale Robinson, Daniel Bellinger, and Nick Singleton. However, not enough people are talking about what a big season this could be for Calvin Ridley.

Ridley is just one season removed from a 2024 campaign where he had over 1,000 receiving yards, twice as many as any other player on the roster. His supporting cast during that season was Brian Callahan, Will Levis, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, and Tyler Boyd, and that didn't exactly make life easy for him.

Titans veteran WR Calvin Ridley could be primed for major bounce-back season in 2026

Ridley is going to be sharing the spotlight with Robinson, who has had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons from the slot, and with Tate, who was the consensus top receiver in the 2026 NFL Draft class.

Then there is the small matter of an upgrade at quarterback and coaching staff, and the signs of those improvements are already showing up at OTAs. According to reports, the Titans are being much more aggressive, pushing the ball down the field.

Ridley's 2025 season was disappointing, but the team he is returning to in 2026 is more talented and a better fit for what he still brings to the table. The cherry on top of all of this is that Daboll worked with Ridley in college; he knows what the veteran does well and how to get the most out of him.

As far as the fan base and media are concerned, there is no pressure on Ridley to do anything; in fact, most are shocked he is still with the team after it was long assumed he would be a player who would be cut to save money this offseason. The bar has never been lower for Ridley at any point in his career.

The Titans aren't overly reliant on Ridley because they have Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor champing at the bit to get on the field behind Tate and Robinson. On the other hand, if he looks like 2024 Ridley, then this offense will have two veterans playing at a "1,000+ yards per season" level, as well as a first-round pick. That would be a huge blessing for a Titans fan base desperate for a fun offense to cheer for.
