The Tennessee Titans made significant investments to upgrade their wide receiver room this offseason. Mike Borgonzi drafted Carnell Tate at No. 4 overall and paid Wan'Dale Robinson a $70 million contract over four years. The Titans have definitely strengthened the supporting cast around franchise quarterback Cam Ward.

Tate is expected to quickly develop into the team's No. 1 receiver, but there are options throughout the lineup. Robinson reunites with new offensive coordinator Brian Daboll in a familiar offense. Calvin Ridley and Chimere Dike are also explosive threats for Ward at receiver.

Of the returning wideouts in the offense, sophomore receiver Elic Ayomanor may have the toughest pathway to relevance. Well, there's good news for Ayomanor on that front. Titans head coach Robert Saleh praised his offseason growth unprompted after a recent OTA practice.

"The skill group overall is much improved," Saleh responded to Paul Kuharsky's question about how Tate and Robinson will be reliable weapons for Ward. "When a quarterback has confidence with their catch radius, between Wan'Dale, Tate, even Elic [Ayomanor] looks fantastic. Just overall the group is really elevated from last year."

Kuharsky's question was specifically about how Tate and Robinson being sure-handed weapons should help the Titans get past their drop issues throughout the 2025 campaign. For Saleh to bring up Ayomanor in response to the question is a good sign that the coaching staff is pleased with his offseason growth. Ayomanor will have to continue impressing to compete for reps.

Tate will be a starting boundary receiver in Daboll's offense. Robinson projects as the every-down slot weapon. Dike and Ridley may compete for snaps at the Z/flanker position. Ayomanor will have to be versatile enough to play all three receiver spots to earn playing time.

Ayomanor recorded 41 receptions for 515 yards and four touchdowns as a rookie. The rebuilding Titans were overly reliant on his outputs due to a lack of veteran talent at the position. Pro Football Focus credited him with four drops, which was an issue in college for Ayomanor as well.

Tate and Robinson will immediately upgrade the Titans' pass catching corps. Everyone else will have to compete for reps while being efficient with their opportunities. Hearing Saleh praise Ayomanor is a terrific sign for his chances.
