The Tennessee Titans' offense hasn't been good enough through Week 4. One player certainly isn't to blame. Titans right tackle JC Latham is enjoying a breakout campaign that is All-Pro worthy.

This 2026 season is critical for Latham, who is eligible for a contract extension next offseason. General manager Mike Borgonzi will also be making a decision regarding his fifth-year contract option. Right now, exercising that option is a no brainer.

Latham entered the campaign needing to improve after a disappointing sophomore year in 2025. The former Alabama standout is finally living up to expectations. Latham is playing like a long-term building block for this Titans offense.

Titans are finally getting the breakout JC Latham season they needed

The biggest positive takeaway from the Titans' winless start has been the improvement shown by the offensive line. Expected to be among the weaker protection units around the league, that simply hasn't been the case. This Titans offensive line has been excellent, and Latham is at its forefront.

Titans quarterback Cam Ward has been sacked on just six occasions in four games. Only four teams have given up fewer sacks. Pro Football Focus hasn't credited Latham with allowing any of those takedowns. The 2024 seventh overall selection has been tagged with forfeiting just four pressures in protection.

Entering the Baltimore Ravens game, the Titans had left Latham on an island in protection on a league-leading 72.1% of snaps, per PFF. That means he's being asked to protect the edge without double-team/chip help more than any other offensive tackle in the league. Latham is winning a league-high 96% of those snaps. It's not hyperbole to claim he's been elite.

Every metric says Titans RT JC Latham is having a great season

Among the top-30 ranked tackles in PFF's pass-blocking grades (taken with a grain of salt), only four have given up fewer pressures than Latham. They are Lane Johnson, Garett Bolles, Amarius Mims, and Braxton Jones. That's good company for Latham to be keeping.

ESPN Analytics tracks data as well. We've highlighted Latham's results in pass protection, but different metrics value his progress as a run blocker, too. ESPN has Latham's run-block-win-rate at 81%, tied for 9th-best in the NFL.

The Titans are getting the breakout Latham season they desperately needed. Long-term building blocks are good for Borgonzi and this rebuilding offense. Latham is playing his way into a lucrative contract extension.
