The Tennessee Titans endured a heartbreaking loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2 sit at 0-2 to start the regular season. Despite the last-second defeat, Titans' fans have every right to feel hopeful. This team played truly competitive football for the first time in quite a while, and one unit in particular shined against all odds.
The Titans',offensive line exceeded expectations against an elite defensive front, and it's even fair to say they won the trench war on offense. The Titans averaged 4.2 yards per carry, showing great progress in the ground game. Former first-round pick JC Latham also seems to finally be living up to initial expectations, locking down the right side of the offensive line throughout the first two weeks.
Latham's draft profile in 2024 was almost entirely based on his strength, and he's finally putting it on full display. Whether it was moving bodies in the run game, or handling Nolan Smith on pass sets, Latham shined on Sunday. For a player who has never shown consistency over the last two seasons, he's off to an impressive start in 2026.

The 23-year-old tackle also put on a show in Week 1 against the Jets, where he mainly lined up against the 2026 second overall pick, David Bailey. Bailey was known for his elite speed and pass rush ability, and Latham manhandled him all game. The Jets ended up overwhelming the offensive line with constant blitzes, but Latham took care of business on the right side.
Unfortunately for Latham, his only mistake came at the worst possible time in Week 2. A slight misstep against Jalen Carter led to a drive-killing sack and took the Titans out of touchdown range on the final drive. A loss should never be blamed on one specific play, but this was an absolutely brutal blow. Eliminating costly mistakes, no matter how few and far between, is the next step.
Latham has another great opportunity to prove himself in Week 3 against the New York Giants. If Latham can once again lock up pass rushers like Abdul Carter and Kayvon Thibodeaux, his odds of earning a long-term contract in Tennessee this offseason will continue to skyrocket.
