The Tennessee Titans nearly pulled off the unthinkable in Week 2. Entering as obvious underdogs, they almost upset the Philadelphia Eagles. Trying to protect a lead with fewer than 30 seconds left, the Eagles scored a game-winning touchdown with nine seconds remaining when Jalen Hurts found Darius Cooper in the end zone.
The rebuilding Titans were competitive versus the annual-contending Eagles. That wouldn't be possible if certain players didn't put forth encouraging performances. The Titans got several big-time contributions from ascending talents.

RB Tyjae Spears
Tyjae Spears earned nine total touches and made two explosive plays for the Titans. The versatile athlete was responsible for the offense's third and fourth biggest chunk-yardage gains. On a crucial 3rd-and-22 late in the fourth quarter, Spears unfathomably gained an explosive 27 yards on a give-up run. He also took a short dump-off pass from Cam Ward, quickly split the defense upfield, gaining 27 via the pass.
Spears produced 70 all-purpose yards, averaging 7.7 yards per opportunity. The Titans need Spears to continue generating explosive plays as a runner and receiver. He's earned another 10+ touches versus the New York Giants in Week 3.
WR Elic Ayomanor
Elic Ayomanor only had two receptions versus the Eagles. Yet he led the team in receiving with 69 yards. Ayomanor was responsible for the Titans' two-most explosive plays, gaining 41 and 28. Talk about efficiency. Coach Saleh praised his work ethic and results earlier this week.
Ayomanor's 41-yard gain included a highlight-reel leap over an Eagles defender. Both Carnell Tate (40) and Calvin Ridley (33) outsnapped Ayomanor, and Wan'Dale Robinson matched his 28 snaps. The Titans have lots of competition for reps at receiver, but the sophomore deserves more targets.
CB Marcus Harris
Slot corner Marcus Harris has been the Titans' fourth-most snapped defensive back. He's typically on the field if the Titans are in nickel or dime personnel. And he's totally repaying Coach Saleh's faith for handing him the nickel gig this offseason without competition.
Harris had an impressive over-the-shoulder interception in Week 2. Jeffery Simmons hit Jalen Hurts' arm, affecting the throw, but Harris was in good position to undercut an open DeVonta Smith. Through two games, the sophomore sixth-round pick is the Titans' highest-graded cornerback in coverage (77.1), according to Pro Football Focus, and he's their only corner with an interception.
