Everything isn't perfect for the Tennessee Titans, but anyone who watched the Week 2 game against the Philadelphia Eagles can see that this is a young team that is improving quickly.
In Week 1, the Titans struggled to move the ball. After an opening script that led to a field goal, the drive chart included four three-and-outs on the next eight possessions. The only positive drive was a nine-play, 65-yard scoring drive that resulted in a garbage-time touchdown with three minutes left in a lost game.
The Titans started better in Week 2, and even though they weren't perfect, they cleared the low bar that they set in Week 1. In the first half versus the Eagles, their drive chart was a three-and-out, a touchdown (via a short field), a six-play drive for 16 yards, and then an eight-play drive for 51 yards and a field goal before halftime. Nothing to celebrate, but 10 points on four drives isn't terrible.

Something clicked in the second half. They had not one, but two 69-yard drives, and even though there were some big plays left on the field, they found ways to overcome, move the chains, and get points. That is growth, and they did it against one of the most successful defenses in the NFL.
It wasn't just an uptick in offense. Before the final drive, the defense only allowed three points in the second half, and that was due to a 58-yard field goal. The defense also made splash plays, including two sacks, two more TFLs, and an interception.
Growth is rarely linear, so time will tell whether or not the Titans can continue to grow at this rate heading into the game against the New York Giants on Sunday. However, this is the first sign of growth that the Titans have shown in years.
There are positive signs. And after two weeks where the Titans' offensive line has held up, Cam Ward can start trusting his protection more, hang tough in those pockets for a little bit longer, and hit some of the routes that are coming open.
After all the setbacks and failure, no one in this fan base will be happy until they start winning games. However, this might be the light at the end of the tunnel.
