The Tennessee Titans revamped their wide receiver room this offseason. The team drafted Carnell Tate at fourth overall and also signed Wan'Dale Robinson to a four-year, $70 million contract in free agency. The new additions have left sophomore receiver Elic Ayomanor without a clear-cut spot on the depth chart.
Veteran Calvin Ridley is also back after a contract restructure. The Titans' offseason happenings have left Ayomanor competing for a role in Brian Daboll's new-look offense. The Titans' receivers are competing for reps at training camp, and that's precisely what practice is for.
The Titans practiced on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday (Friday was a closed-doors walkthrough). At Thursday's session, Ayomanor made one breathtaking play that proves he's fighting for positioning on a competitive depth chart. Receivers like Ridley and Chimere Dike aren't guaranteed to outperform Ayomanor this Fall.

Ayomanor arguably made the offense's lone highlight-reel play on Thursday, as the defense was the better of the two units. Ayomanor climbed the ladder on new Titans cornerback Cor'Dale Flott to snatch a ball out of thin air and capped the play by getting into the end zone. It was a gorgeous sidearm delivery from starting quarterback Cam Ward, and the rep surfaced on social media.

Ayomanor arrived at training camp having clearly transformed his body over the offseason. The sophomore appears bigger and is practicing with brimming confidence. The former Stanford standout has designs on making a second-year jump.
Tate and Robinson are expected to be the Titans' top two receivers. It currently feels like Ridley, Ayomanor, and Dike are all competing for reps in 11 personnel (three receivers). The way Ayomanor is practicing, you shouldn't write off his chances.
Ward is getting comfortable with Daboll's offense while learning who his go-to receivers can be. Training camp is providing valuable opportunities to prepare for the regular season. So far, Ayomanor has been among the Titans' most trustworthy outlets at practice.
