The Tennessee Titans were on the practice field Monday for their seventh OTA practice. It was the third session open to the media. Franchise quarterback Cam Ward continues to work on mastering Brian Daboll's new offense.

The Titans offense heavily focused on red-zone work, according to reporters in attendance. Given the increased difficulty level of practice, Ward and the offense understandably struggled. Team writer Jim Wyatt had Ward going 9-of-18 on the day, including an interception and 50-yard bomb to rookie Carnell Tate.

Despite that, local podcast host (and former radio personality) Jared Stillman overreacted via social media. Stillman took to his personal account after practice to boldly proclaim Ward will be a "bust." It's a ridiculous statement from a known hot-take artist.

Jared Stillman sparks fan outrage by calling Titans QB Cam Ward a "bust" in June

"I’ve seen enough to tell you that Cam Ward will be a bust, no matter how much people don’t want to believe it," Stillman said during a live streaming of his show.

Stillman's hot-take reaction seemingly goes against the consensus opinion. While Ward has reportedly been somewhat up-and-down at OTAs, he's learning Daboll's offense while getting used to new playmakers like Tate and Wan'Dale Robinson. Despite all that, the interception he threw at Monday's practice was allegedly his first of OTAs.

Ward flashed as a rookie despite playing on a terrible 3-14 Titans team. He navigated the organization's shortcomings on the roster and coaching staff to look like a promising young quarterback. The highs were incredibly high, with Ward showing he can grow into a franchise quarterback.

The stats didn't paint a strong picture. Among quarterbacks who attempted at least 250 passes, Ward had the third-worst completion percentage (59.8%), trailing just J.J. McCarthy and Caleb Williams. Ward's adjusted quarterback rating (QBR) of 33.2 was the worst in the league, per ESPN analytics.

Ward is expected to showcase significant growth as a sophomore quarterback and his rookie tape strongly suggested he's capable of doing so. OTAs welcomed some challenges, which is par for the course for NFL practices in June. While hot-take artists like Stillman are ready to prematurely call Ward a "bust," the more levelheaded Titans fans and analysts see positive progression coming in 2026.
