3 wide receivers the Titans should trade for after whiffing in free agency

The Tennessee Titans have plugged some holes throughout the early portion of free agency. They signed offensive tackle Dan Moore Jr. and guard Kevin Zeitler to address the offensive line, which was this offseason's top priority. Defensive linemen Dre'Mont Jones will add depth, and safety Xavier Woods is expected to start opposite Amani Hooker in the secondary.

One position that has gone largely ignored is wide receiver. After losing Nick Westbrook-Ikhine to the Miami Dolphins, general manager Mike Borgonzi responded by signing Van Jefferson, a worse version of Westbrook-Ikhine. Calvin Ridley is currently the lone proven receiver on the roster.

The Titans want to be a draft-and-develop team, but after trading Kenneth Murray to the Dallas Cowboys for a late-round pick swap, Borgonzi and Chad Brinker are flushed with tradeable picks on Day 3. The Titans should consider flipping a late-round selection for a proven receiver with more upside to explore. We've identified three potential options.

Romeo Doubs, Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers have been attached to several big-name receivers this offseason, including DK Metcalf, and the recently released Cooper Kupp. When they inevitably acquire a starting-caliber wideout this summer, Romeo Doubs could be the odd man out on offense. Doubs is scheduled to enter a contract year and is coming off a down season.

Doubs was limited by injury to 13 appearances in 2023, and recorded fewer receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns than the year prior. He's fallen behind Jayden Reed and Christian Watson on the depth chart, and even Dontayvion Wicks has pushed for additional playing time. When the Packers inevitably acquire another body here, the Titans should make the call.

Wan'Dale Robinson, New York Giants

Tyler Boyd is currently a free agent and the Titans don't have a natural in-house fit to replace him in the slot. A 2022 second-rounder, Wan'Dale Robinson is also entering a contract year. The New York Giants recently brought back Darius Slayton, and could draft a receiver (Travis Hunter?) highly.

Robinson was electric this past campaign, recording 93 receptions for 699 yards and three touchdowns. He's a high-volume pass catcher near the line of scrimmage. His reliability underneath opposing coverage would appeal to a rookie quarterback like Cam Ward.

Marvin Mims Jr., Denver Broncos

Marvin Mims Jr. would bring an element of deep speed to the Titans' offense. Would the Denver Broncos move him? It's worth noting Mims Jr. took a considerable step forward as a sophomore in 2024, totaling 39 receptions for 503 yards and six touchdowns.

The Broncos are expected to draft a pass catcher highly in April, and recently signed Evan Engram at tight end. Troy Franklin is also a candidate to eat into Mims' snap count given his chemistry with Bo Nix. The Broncos should hang onto Mims, but the Titans should at least gauge their willingness to move him.
