The Tennessee Titans have made sweeping changes to their roster this offseason. General manager Mike Borgonzi has built the team in the vision of head coach Robert Saleh and his coordinators Brian Daboll and Gus Bradley. By our count, the Titans currently have 41 new players on their 90-man roster, including 20 unrestricted free-agent signings, eight draft picks, and 11 undrafted free agents.
The new-look Titans (who also have uniforms) will look drastically different in 2026. Several players acquired this offseason previously played for Saleh or Daboll. The offensive and defensive schemes are being installed with the appropriate personnel in mind.
Despite the roster turnover, the Titans have several returning talents who can contribute on offense and defense. Saleh and his assistants are tasked with finding roles for effective holdovers from the previous staff. The following three Titans deserve an opportunity to prove they still have something to offer.
Even though it looks like some players are buried on the depth chart, the Tennessee Titans can still get more than enough out of them
Tyjae Spears, RB
Running back Tyjae Spears has seen consecutive seasons derailed by injury after enjoying an exciting rookie campaign in 2023. Spears missed nine contests across 2024-25 and averaged under 4.0 yards per carry in both campaigns. Now, both he and Tony Pollard are entering contract years after the Titans used a draft pick on Nicholas Singleton. The former Tulane standout is still dynamic with the football in his hands, so hopefully he remains available and useful to Daboll.
Jaylen Harrell, EDGE
Saleh revamped the defensive line in his vision. The Titans acquired five EDGEs/defensive tackles that previously played for him in Jermaine Johnson II, Jacob Martin, John Franklin-Myers, Jordan Elliott, and Solomon Thomas. Saleh also drove the bus on drafting Keldric Faulk at No. 31 overall. Hopefully the Titans still have a plan for third-year EDGE Jaylen Harrell, who concluded 2025 by recording four sacks in his final games.
James Williams, LB
Cedric Gray had a breakout season at linebacker. The Titans moved up in the NFL Draft for Anthony Hill Jr., and Cody Barton is still on the roster. Mohamoud Diabate was signed in free agency. Where does that leave James Williams, who has been excellent on special teams while also taking advantage of his rare opportunities to play? Williams is arguably the most athletic linebacker in the position room, and should be afforded an opportunity to compete.
