Actions speak louder than words, and now that free agency and the 2026 NFL Draft are behind us, we can learn a lot about what this Tennessee Titans front office and this coaching staff actually prioritize.

The biggest takeaway from the team's offseason additions is that Saleh and Borgonzi believe that defenses are built front-to-back and not the other way around. Philosophically, this means that this team is going to prioritize defensive linemen and linebackers over cornerbacks and safeties.

While the Titans did have the money to splurge on cornerbacks in free agency, they invested even more heavily in the defensive line. It was great to see them identify the cornerback need and sign Alontae Taylor and Cor'Dale Flott, but the biggest contract they handed out this offseason was to John Franklin-Myers. They also spent a first-round pick on EDGE Keldric Faulk, not to mention trading for Jermaine Johnson and Solomon Thomas.

There are still moves to be made, and several people believe the Titans will add another veteran cornerback before training camp, but that hasn't been the priority. What we have seen from this front office is to make sure that the defensive front features waves of above-average or better defenders that can make life miserable for opposing quarterbacks. That does make their investment strategy on the offensive line a bit more confusing, but time will tell how well their draft-and-develop approach there goes.

The other thing to note is that the Titans were rumored to be interested in investing heavily at off-ball linebacker all offseason long. It started with rumors of a free-agent target, then morphed into the Titans being linked to Sonny Styles before the draft, and finally culminated in them trading up and drafting Anthony Hill in the second round.

Hopefully, those moves work out well enough, and the Titans don't have to commit too many premium resources to them in the future. Don't be surprised if this front office and coaching staff make sure that there is a steady pipeline of Day 3 talent behind the starters.
