There's plenty of blame to go around for the Titans' dysfunction since drafting Ward, but the quarterback has to take some accountability. The sophomore No. 1 overall selection hasn't thrown for 200+ yards this season.
The Giants are allowing the eighth-most passing yards per contest through Week 2. They've dealt with multiple injuries in the secondary, too. If the Titans finally win the time of possession battle versus a backup quarterback, Ward should have more opportunities for his first 200-yard passing display of 2026.
Will rookie WR Carnell Tate make his first big play?
Ward and rookie wide receiver Carnell Tate haven't quite been on the same page. The fourth overall selection has produced seven receptions for 65 yards and zero touchdowns. In Week 2, Tate dropped a critical third-down pass that would have moved the chains.
In-depth tape study indicates Tate is creating good separation. Ward has missed some opportunities to target him deeper down the field. This Giants secondary was just torched by Davante Adams while Puka Nacua sat out injured. Hopefully Tate and Ward have their first big connection.

The Giants offense converted 3-of-14 on third down with backup quarterback Jameis Winston. The veteran Winston will start versus the Titans following Jaxson Dart's potentially season-ending injury. There's no excuse for this Titans defense not to improve.
