It’s late October, so it’s definitely that time of year that a certain group of retired Floridians get their little bit of the spotlight (and no, I’m not talking about the presidential election). While we in Nashville are enjoying the Titan’s best start to a season by far, and living the high life as the NFL’s only undefeated team, these proverbial pigeons are “shitting on our hood.” It’s that time again in the NFL season for the annually annoying 72′ Dolphins to once again give their unsolicited opinions. Thanks guys, I guess it must have been raining on the golf [...]

Titan Up: Week 8 Game Balls
Offense: Offensive Line (David Stewart, Jake Scott, Kevin Mawae, Eugene Amano, Michael Roos)
This group should probably get the game ball each week, as they have opened up huge holes for RB’s “Twitch” Johnson and LenDale White, and have given QB Kerry Collins ample to find receivers all season long. They did so yet again on MNF against the Colts, although the box score won’t quite reflect that: CJ (19 carries for 77 yards) and LenDale (10 carries for 13 yards) combined for only 88 yards on the ground, but they did score 3 touchdowns when it counted the most, and [...]
Titan Sized on FOX Sports!
Say what? That’s right, Arrowhead Addict blogger and one good dude, Adam Best was kind enough to let us do the AFC South breakdown for his weekly column on FOX Sports. And the timing couldn’t have been better, with the Titans fresh off a total steamrolling of the Indianapolis “Paper Champion” Colts on MNF. Our part of the article can be read here on Titan Sized, but I strongly suggest you check out what Mr. “Kanye” Best had to say about the Titans.
Here is a link to the article.
Titan Up party people. Next week doesn’t get any easier…
Titans-Colts Game Notes
Wow. What a thrill to see the Titans play so well in such an important game. We didn’t do everything right, but it seemed like every player on the team made a vital contribution at some point. I haven’t had a chance to watch the TV broadcast yet, but thinking about it, and looking over the numbers, its clear that Jeff Fisher and crew just had the better game plan. Discounting that last Colts touchdown, which came in garbage time, we held Peyton Manning and friends to only 14 points. Isn’t it funny that Tony Dungy, who has relied on the cover [...]
AFC South Breakdown: Week 8
(Nick Bishop, Kellen Barton and Jody Whelan write for Titan Sized, which is FSB’s Tennessee Titans blog. Representing the rest of the AFC South are Black & Teal, Naptown’s Finest and Toro Times)
The Tennessee Titans continued to increase their “improbable” division lead this week as they defeated the Indianapolis Colts. While the Jacksonville Jaguars also lost this weekend, the Houston Texans’ decisive victory over the Bengals caught them up with the “other” AFC South teams: tied for second, or last, depending on how you want to look at it. The foot is squarely on the throats of the rest of [...]
Game Night: Nashville
Headed down to the game now and couldn’t be more excited. I have a thousand thoughts swirling around my head… Something I heard on the radio today kinda stuck with me: Even if the Colts play well we can still beat them. When we play our best football (particularly on defense) no team is better than us. Sure they can play with us, and the game might be close, but we have a championship offensive line, a championship defensive line, great running backs, good tight ends, playmakers in the secondary, a great coach, and… well I’ll stop now before thoroughly jinx us.
Some [...]
These were the Colts
Greetings everyone,
It’s Kellen, the “Baltimoron” [I say that in a loving, self-deprecating way (you don't have permission to call me that)], and as a Titans fan from Baltimore I’ve got some ancillary reasons to very strongly dislike (hate) the Colts. In recent memory the Indy Colts have been the class of the division, as well as the last team from the Conference to win the Super Bowl. For a while there, there were a number of Tennessee football fans (college and pro alike) who might have even pulled for the Colts against the Titans because of our Volunteer hero who [...]
Week 8 Preview: Titans vs Colts
When the Titans schedule was announced, this was the game everyone circled on their calendar. The Colts have won our division 5 straight years. If the Titans want the AFC crown, they have to take it from Indy. With our fast start, we’ve put ourselves in great position, but we have to beat the Colts to show people we’re for real. The Colts at 3-3, feel as though the season is slipping away from them. They’ve gone from being the clear favorite in the division, to its third best team. If not for an improbable fourth quarter comeback against the [...]
Will the Titans win the AFC?
We’re almost halfway through the season. With the Titans standing as the sole undefeated team in the NFL, at 6-0, many observers across the the league are starting/continuing to take the Titans as seriously as their play has merited. The question is: will the Titans win the AFC?
The folks at Most Valuable Network were nice enough to ask for Titan Sized’s opinion on this topic and we were more than happy to reply:
Seven weeks into the season the Tennessee Titans stand at 6-0, the only undefeated team left in the league. We’re far enough along into the 2008 campaign to [...]
Titans News & Notes
Trying to write this while rooting for the Rays and managing America’s most dangerous 4-3 fantasy football team…
So I had suspected this for a while, and according to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean:
“The Titans plan to add three former stars to the team’s “Ring of Honor” at halftime of the Monday Night Football game against the Colts… Quarterback Steve McNair, running back Eddie George and tight end Frank Wycheck will be honored during the ceremony at LP Field. Their names will be displayed inside the bowl at the stadium.”
I’m very happy for Eddie and Frank, of course. But like many [...]
