The Tennessee Titans will enter the 2026 NFL Draft needing to add a notable talent at a premium position. The Titans are trending towards having a top-five pick, but their slotted draft position will officially be determined following Sunday's Week 18 finale versus the Jaguars. That's when Mike Borgonzi can really start putting the wheels in motion on an offseason that will also include a head coaching hire.

Two positions are currently dominating the discussion around the Titans' draft. It's clear that rookie franchise quarterback Cam Ward deserves a legitimate No. 1 wide receiver. The defense would also benefit from adding a stud pass rusher.

Pro Football Focus recently dropped their latest 2026 NFL mock draft. In this scenario, the Titans end up with Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson at No. 6 overall. The Titans should tread carefully, as Tyson's lengthy injury history is cause for concern.

The Titans should not draft an injury-prone player in Round 1

"Help for quarterback Cam Ward needs to be a priority for the Titans this offseason, and Tyson is the top-ranked wide receiver on the PFF Big Board as things stand," Gordon McGuinness wrote. "He has earned PFF overall grades above 80.0 in each of the past two seasons and is coming off a 2025 season in which he dropped just 1.6% of the catchable passes thrown his way."

There's no denying that Tyson is a dynamic wide receiver. The Allen, Texas native recorded 61 receptions for 711 yards and eight touchdowns in just nine appearances this season. But Tyson's checkered medical past should give the Titans significant pause throughout the pre-draft process.

In his three seasons (2023-2025) at Arizona State, Tyson missed 14 of 38 games. The oft-sidelined wideout has dealt with a variety of injuries ranging from knee to collarbone and hamstring issues. Medicals will dominate the conversation surrounding Tyson's true NFL potential.

The Titans moved on from Treylon Burks earlier this season, a first-round receiver who couldn't stay healthy. Whiffing on Burks is a major reason why the offense currently lacks a true No. 1 option. The Titans can't possibly risk a repeat situation by taking Tyson with a top-10 pick.
