The Tennessee Titans added a third win to their record, much to the dismay of the fanbase. Look, in rough seasons like this one has been, the silver lining to losing so much is the high draft pick that comes with it.
At one point, the Titans looked to be heavily in the running for the number one pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, giving them back-to-back first overall picks if that were to stand. With the Titans taking Cam Ward with their top pick a year ago, they wouldn't need to take one of the popular quarterback prospects likely going in that spot. That could mean they'd either trade the pick or go with someone that does fit what they're looking for.
While it was fun to watch the Titans beat the Chiefs, that win pushes them further down in the draft order. It's good to see Ward get a confidence boost with that win and performance but, again, if the best possible draft positioning is what fans want to see, they'll be disappointed with the victory.
Where would the Titans pick in the 2026 NFL Draft?
Number | Team | Record | Strength of Schedule |
|---|---|---|---|
1 | New York Giants | 2-13 | .534 |
2 | Las Vegas Raiders | 2-12* | .544 |
3 | Cleveland Browns | 3-12 | .492 |
4 | New York Jets | 3-12 | .534 |
5 | Tennessee Titans | 3-12 | .574 |
6 | Arizona Cardinals | 3-11* | .570 |
7 | Washington Commanders | 4-11 | .504 |
8 | New Orleans Saints | 5-10 | .492 |
9 | Cincinnati Bengals | 5-10 | .518 |
10 | Los Angeles Rams (via Atlanta Falcons) | 5-9* | .502 |
If the draft was held today, the Titans would hold the fifth overall pick in the first round. Considering just a month ago they held the top spot and last week were in line for the third overall pick, they're not doing themselves any favors when it comes to draft status.
It's nice to see Ward and this team get some confidence for sure so if anything else, maybe this late-season win will help build some momentum for next year. The first overall pick is still on the table but considering how much worse the Raiders and Jets have looked, it feels like that second straight top pick could be slipping out of Tennessee's hands.
