The Tennessee Titans are about midway through their 10 scheduled OTA practices. They'll resume on Monday with the final practice session scheduled for Friday before transitioning to mandatory minicamp. This portion of the offseason is completely voluntary, so some notable playmakers have been absent or limited.

That's been especially true at wide receiver, where rookie No. 4 overall pick Carnell Tate has been dominant early. Meanwhile fellow receivers Calvin Ridley, Chimere Dike, and Elic Ayomanor have been absent or non-participant in team periods. That's created more opportunities for veteran wideout K.J. Osborn.

Osborn got "a lot of run" at the latest OTA practice that was open to the media, according to Paul Kuharsky. The Titans signed Osborn in a low-key move earlier this offseason. With so many absences at receiver, he's getting a chance to revive his NFL career.

Tennessee Titans veteran WR K.J. Osborn is fighting for his NFL career at OTAs

The Titans signed Osborn to a one-year contract worth $1.2 million in April. The former Miami Hurricanes wideout didn't receive any guaranteed money in his contract. The Titans can release him obligation-free during final roster cuts.

After being selected in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Osborn broke out as a sophomore with the Minnesota Vikings. He shocked fans that year by registering 50 receptions on 82 targets for 655 yards and seven touchdowns. Osborn followed that up with two more 500-plus receiving yard campaigns in 2022 and 2023.

For whatever reason, Osborn essentially disappeared after that. He failed to latch on with the Washington Commanders in 2024 despite signing a $4 million contract, enduring a brief tenure with the New England Patriots as well. Osborn was basically out of the league in 2025, minus a short stint with the Atlanta Falcons' practice squad.

The Titans have five surefire roster locks at receiver in Tate, Wan'Dale Robinson, Ridley, Dike, and Ayomanor. Osborn is competing for the sixth (and possibly seventh?) spots with a slew of wideouts, including Bryce Oliver, Mason Kinsey, and Xavier Restrepo. His 53-man roster chances don't look great on the surface.

OTAs have provided Osborn with an opportunity to get some first-team reps. By all accounts, he's taken advantage by impressing on offense. Osborn is a super-interesting veteran player who is a true wild-card at OTAs.
