The Tennessee Titans entered the offseason with a need to surround franchise quarterback Cam Ward with more playmakers at wide receiver. General manager Mike Borgonzi got fairly aggressive as soon as NFL free agency opened. The Titans signed Wan'Dale Robinson to a four-year contract worth $70 million, reuniting him with offensive coordinator Brian Daboll.
Robinson wasn't the Titans' lone occurrence at receiver. They also restructured Calvin Ridley's contract, keeping an expected cap casualty on the roster. Robinson and Ridley are quality weapons, but neither party fits the definition of a true No. 1 wideout.
The Titans signed two more wide receivers on Wednesday afternoon. The team agreed to terms with veteran wideouts K.J. Osborn and Lance McCutcheon, according to various reports. The need for a long-term WR1 remains.
Titans sign two wide receivers who won't solve their problem
McCutcheon joined the Titans' practice squad last season. The former undrafted free agent out of Montana State actually announced his retirement earlier this offseason. McCutcheon has seemingly experienced a change of heart, and will be joining the Titans for offseason activity.
The 28-year-old Osborn enjoyed some nice seasons from 2021 to 2023 with the Minnesota Vikings. He registered three straight seasons with 540-plus receiving yards, scoring 15 combined touchdowns. Osborn has since struggled to get on the field, bouncing around with the New England Patriots, Atlanta Falcons, and Washington Commanders. He did not appear in an NFL game in 2025. The Titans will find out if he has any gas left in the tank.
The Titans entered the offseason with a need for a long-term WR1. Despite all their activity at the position, that's a difficult spot to address, and Borgonzi understandably hasn't found the right opportunity. Having Ridley and Robinson will help, but it's hard to envision the latest additions, Osborn and McCutcheon, even making the 53-man roster.
