The Tennessee Titans made some offseason changes at tight end. They let 2025 receiving yards leader Chig Okonkwo leave in free agency, and replaced him with Daniel Bellinger. The expectation is that sophomore Gunnar Helm will emerge as the primary pass catcher at the position in 2026.

Helm and Bellinger are expected to dominate reps at tight end. It's worth remembering Bellinger is here because he previously played for new Titans offensive coordinator Brian Daboll with the New York Giants. Behind them, there'll be lots of competition at training camp for the third and possibly fourth spots.

David Martin-Robinson is entering his third training camp with the Titans. General manager Mike Borgonzi used a seventh-round pick on former Oklahoma tight end Jaren Kanak. Borgonzi also signed veteran free agent Kylen Granson, who makes this position room especially crowded.

Titans TE Kylen Granson will complicate things at training camp

Granson's one-year contract with the Titans only has $500,000 in guarantees, per Over the Cap. That does not guarantee him a 53-man roster spot, but it does allow him an opportunity to compete. Granson has appeared in 79 career NFL games, registering 93 receptions for 998 yards and one touchdown.

Martin-Robinson was a promising 2024 undrafted free agent who has stuck around with the Titans. This past campaign, he led John "Bones" Fassel's special teams unit in snaps with 377. Martin-Robinson's experience with the organization, paired with his special teams usage, probably provides him the inside track on the third tight end role.

Kanak possesses the advantage of being a rookie draft pick. Rookies are almost always guaranteed a 53-man roster spot. Kanak is a developmental prospect who made a positional switch from linebacker to tight end at Oklahoma this past season. He flashed pass-catching upside, notching 44 receptions for 553 yards (12.1 yards per catch).

The Titans' rebuilding roster improved this offseason. Having more competition at training camp is a first-world problem the Titans lacked in 2024 and 2025. Granson is the type of sneaky-good addition that will push for a 53-man roster this offseason.
