The Tennessee Titans have locked down their first-round selection from 2023 on a long-term deal. Per NFL insider Ian Rapoport, offensive guard Peter Skoronski has signed a four-year, $100 million deal to stay with the Titans.
The former first-round pick still had two years left on his rookie contract, including his fifth-year option, but Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi got out ahead of the negotiations, wrapping the deal up before the end of training camp.
The deal includes $88 million in guarantees, per Rapoport. Skoronski is now the highest-paid guard in the NFL. It's a hefty price to pay for an interior offensive lineman, but Skoronski is a clear building block that this franchise needed to lock in moving forward.

Before Skoronski signed his deal, Atlanta Falcons veteran Matthew Bergeron was the league's highest-paid guard with an average annual value of $24 million. Just days after the Falcons inked Bergeron to his deal, Borgonzi and the Titans agreed to reset the market with Skoronski's monster contract.
As staggering as the initial numbers may be, this will go down as a savvy move by Tennessee. The guard market was only going to increase if they waited to get the deal done. All-Pro caliber players at the position, like Indianapolis Colts veteran Quentin Nelson, are entering the final year of their current deals. If the Titans had waited until later into the season to get this done, it may have become even more expensive.
Tennessee was questioned back in 2023 when it initially made the decision to draft Skoronski with a top-12 pick. Guards don't typically come off the board that quickly, and the Titans could have elected to use the pick on a more premium position.
But Skoronski has been a worthy investment so far in his NFL career. The fourth-year pro allowed just 23 pressures last season, accounting for only 1.9% of his pass-blocking snaps. He was one of the more efficient pass-blocking interior offensive linemen in the league.
The 25-year-old took some time to come into his own in the NFL, giving the Titans average guard play across the first two seasons of his career. He truly took the next step in 2025, becoming a reliable member of the offensive line.
The Titans doubled down on their controversial 2023 selection, and it's hard to fault them for it. Skoronski will now be a key part of Cam Ward's protection for years to come.
