The Tennessee Titans are coming off an exciting 2026 Draft, but the team just recently took care of some business with their top pick in the 2023 Draft. Offensive lineman Peter Skoronski, drafted 11th overall, has played three seasons in the NFL, which means it was time for the team to decide on his fifth-year option. Considering his performance since hearing his name called, it seemed like a no-brainer that Tennessee would pick up the option.
That’s exactly what happened on Thursday; the franchise secured their starting left guard to the roster for an additional season. Entering his fourth year in the league, Skoronski is now under contract for the 2026 season, and 2027.
Titans pick up Peter Skoronski‘s fifth-year option
Again, Skoronski was selected with the 11th-overall pick in the first round of the 2023 Draft out of Northwestern. That came with high expectations, and he has largely met those expectations. The lineman was a day one starter in Tennessee, playing in 14 games as a rookie. He followed that up by starting all 17 games in each of the next two seasons.
Because of his durability, and solid play, Skoronski has established himself as a consistent force for the Titans offense. He hasn’t just been available, though, he’s been a bright spot. Fortunately, Tennessee has started to place more talent around him on the offensive line, specifically, and the offense as a whole.
That, of course, recently continued with wide receiver Carnell Tate, who was selected fourth overall in the 2026 Draft. The Titans are hoping all the young talent, led by Cam Ward, can create a productive offense and contending team under this new regime in Tennessee. With Brian Daboll taking over as the team’s offensive coordinator under new head coach Robert Saleh, the expectations are starting to rise for the Titans offense.
Peter Skoronski, as a foundational piece for the offensive line, will be a huge part of that. With his fifth-year option now officially picked up, the next step for Tennessee is securing the offensive lineman long term. After completing three years in the league, Skoronski is also eligible for a contract extension now, so the franchise can go ahead and get that done.
Since the lineman is under contract for two more years, the team could also wait. Either way, the Titans have made it clear Peter Skoronski is a part of their future.
