The Tennessee Titans are in the market for a new starting quarterback this offseason. Owning the No. 1 overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, new general manager Mike Borgonzi and Co. have a sizable decision to make at signal caller. One potential outcome sees the Titans choose between quarterback prospects Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders.
Many aren't convinced that Ward or Sanders are worth the No. 1 overall selection. The Titans are rightfully doing their due diligence. A large contingent met with, and observed Sanders at this past week's East-West Shrine Bowl. Borgonzi, president of football operations Chad Brinker, and members of the scouting and coaching staff then traveled directly to the Senior Bowl to continue exploring this year's draft class.
Ward isn't in Mobile, so the Titans will have to wait until the NFL Scouting Combine to get hands-on experience with him. If the Titans decide to draft a quarterback, it'll be Ward or Sanders. That's precisely what they do in Bucky Brooks' latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft.

"Second-year head coach Brian Callahan and new general manager Mike Borgonzi jump-start the Titans' rebuild with a franchise quarterback boasting big-game moxie and experience engineering program turnarounds," Brooks wrote.
Sanders was electric for the Buffaloes this season. The son of NFL Hall of Famer, and Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, the well-developed signal caller threw for 37 touchdowns, just 10 interceptions, and 4,134 yards.
Tennessee's scouting process will be interesting. Sanders appears to be a better fit for Callahan's offense, which prefers a quarterback who throws the ball with accuracy and anticipation while operating as a rhythm-and-timing pocket passer. There's little doubt however that Ward is the more physically impressive prospect with special off-script ability.
The Titans could also prefer to acquire a veteran quarterback as opposed to drafting one who isn't considered a generational prospect at No. 1 overall. While Aaron Rodgers has been mentioned as a possibility, franchise legend Warren Moon is hoping the Titans decline to go down that road. Other options could include Kirk Cousins and Derek Carr, the latter of which previously played for Callahan.
The Titans recently spent valuable time with Sanders at the East-West Shrine. Brinker, Borgonzi, and Callahan became more familiar with him and his potential fit with the franchise. Brooks believes the Titans should draft Sanders at No. 1 overall.
