Tennessee Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi is tasked with acquiring help at wide receiver this offseason. Borgonzi will enter NFL free agency with a need to surround quarterback Cam Ward with more passing-game weapons. Investing in Ward's growth is the top priority this summer.

Ward flashed franchise potential despite being saddled with a lackluster cast of pass catchers. Free agency will provide the Titans with an opportunity to add veteran upgrades. Borgonzi is equipped with roughly $104.7 million in cap space.

One of the potentially intriguing options is Tampa Bay Buccaneers veteran receiver Mike Evans. Evans has yet to agree to a new contract with the Bucs. Pro Football Network recently linked the Titans with a move for the future Hall of Fame wideout.

Titans named as potential landing spot for Mike Evans in NFL Free Agency

"With over $104 million in cap space this offseason, the Tennessee Titans have the most spending capital in the NFL in free agency," Jacob Infante wrote. "They’ve already found their young QB of the future in Cam Ward and need to build around him. The Titans have the likes of Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike on their roster, which gives them good long-term promise. However, Evans would likely step in as their WR1 out of the gate and give Ward an experienced, big-bodied weapon to throw to."

Prior to 2025, Evans had produced 1,000-plus receiving yards in 11 consecutive seasons. That tied the legendary Jerry Rice for the previous all-time record. The streak came to an end this past season due to an injury-shortened campaign.

Now, the 32-year-old Evans is slated to hit free agency for the first time in his illustrious career. The Titans haven't had terrific luck historically with aging receivers. From Randy Moss and Julio Jones to Andre Johnson and Tyler Lockett, Tennessee has been a graveyard for once-legendary receivers to fade into the background.

Evans appears to have productive football left in the tank. The six-time Pro Bowler registered 368 yards and three touchdowns in eight appearances. If nothing, Evans is still a big-bodied boundary target and difference-maker in the red zone.

The Titans should approach Evans with caution, but it's worth considering a move for the talented wideout.
