The Tennessee Titans were one of the few teams that had the combination of both a great free agency and draft class, as well as benefited from their schedule release. With Robert Saleh leading the show with a new coaching staff, the hope is that the Titans will bounce back from an 6-28 combined record that they have had the last two seasons.
With Cam Ward going into his second season with an upgraded supporting cast, the offense (led by Brian Daboll) should be in much better shape than they were under Brian Callahan. Then you have the defense that will be in Saleh’s control and this unit is completely loaded up with talent in free agency. Not to mention, Jeffery Simmons signed an extension to stay in Nashville for the long haul.
Even though the defense should be miles better under Saleh, that doesn’t mean that they won’t have a tough time against some of the best quarterbacks in the league. Some notable stars they will face are Jalen Hurts, Lamar Jackson, Dak Prescott, and Jayden Daniels.
Tennessee Titans' schedule features 3 QBs set up for MVP run in 2026
There are also three quarterbacks that they will face (one in their own division) that could very well be on their way to winning their first MVP award, which presents as a major problem to the Titans’ defense.
Lou Scataglia from NFL Spin Zone listed six quarterbacks who are most likely to win their first NFL MVP award in 2026 and three of them will face the Titans this season:
Jared Goff - Detroit Lions (Week 14)
Trevor Lawrence - Jacksonville Jaguars (Weeks 10 & 12)
Joe Burrow - Cincinnati Bengals (Week 8)
Goff and the Lions should return as a powerhouse in 2026, especially since they have a new offensive coordinator in Drew Petzing. Not to mention, the Lions have one of the most stacked supporting casts that a quarterback could ask for. With Goff being one of the best pocket-passers in the league, he could be on his way to make life miserable for opponents.
Titans fans are familiar with Trevor Lawrence, who was arguably the best player in football down the stretch last season going into the playoffs. He played at an MVP level and he even gave the Bills a run for their money in the first round of the playoffs. Even though the Titans know Lawrence and what he brings, Lawrence also knows what the Titans have lacked. Maybe that changes, maybe it doesn’t.
Out of all three of these quarterbacks, Joe Burrow is definitely the one that has the best chance simply because of what he has already done, and he has the best WR duo to help him make it happen with Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. The Titans are going to have their hands full to the max when they face the Bengals this season, as long as Burrow stays healthy.
