The Tennessee Titans were defeated 34-26 by the surging New Orleans Saints in Sunday's Week 17 contest. It was a lackluster performance by a defense which was forced to start several practice-squad level players. The lone bright spot defensively was superstar defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons.

Simmons is arguably enjoying the best season of his career in 2025. In Sunday's loss to the Saints, the former Mississippi State standout achieved a statistical feat for the first time in his illustrious career. Simmons' strip-sack of Saints rookie quarterback Tyler Shough brought him to 10 sacks on the year, his first double-digit sack season.

Simmons was named to the 2026 Pro Bowl earlier this month. It's the fourth Pro Bowl nod of his career. Simmons deserves All-Pro recognition following a career-high clinching sack.

Titans DT Jeffery Simmons deserves All-Pro nod after reaching career achievement

Simmons advanced to his second consecutive Pro Bowl. He's a two-time Second-Team All-Pro (2021, 2022). Despite the Titans' 3-13 record, Simmons deserves to earn a First-Team All-Pro nomination at the conclusion of the season.

Simmons is now the NFL's lone interior defender with 10 sacks this campaign. Every other 10-sack defender through Week 17 possesses the benefit of rushing the passer from the edge. Simmons has established himself as an elite defensive tackle in the league in 2025.

The Titans' record could prevent Simmons from receiving the accolades he so clearly deserves. The 2019 first-round selection is one of the team's two Pro Bowlers alongside rookie wide receiver Chimere Dike. It's clear that Simmons has been the Titans' best player this season though.

Simmons has been the most dominant version of himself throughout 2025. Having reached double-digit sacks for the first time, he now has something tangible to confirm this has been his best season. Hopefully the NFL is willing to recognize Simmons' greatness by making him a First-Team All-Pro selection.
