The Tennessee Titans fought hard in their eight-point loss to the New Orleans Saints but, when it was all said and done, they lost their 13th game of the year. Titans fans aren't exactly sad by the loss as the team isn't going anywhere meaningful this year and they have a chance to get a top-5 pick for the second year in a row.
Where would the Titans be slotted in the draft order if the event took place right now? Here is the updated order after the early window of games, according to Tankathon:
Number | Team | Record | Strength of Schedule |
|---|---|---|---|
1 | New York Giants | 2-13* | .530 |
2 | Las Vegas Raiders | 2-13* | .541 |
3 | New York Jets | 3-13 | .552 |
4 | Tennessee Titans | 3-13 | .576 |
5 | Arizona Cardinals | 3-13 | .577 |
6 | Cleveland Browns | 4-12 | .494 |
7 | Washington Commanders | 4-12 | .504 |
8 | New Orleans Saints | 6-10 | .491 |
9 | Kansas City Chiefs | 6-10 | .511 |
10 | Cincinnati Bengals | 6-10 | .520 |
Titans fans won’t mind this loss as 2026 draft position improves again
A few weeks ago, the Titans were still in great shape to land the number one overall pick for the second straight year but that seems less likely now. They were in the sixth overall spot last week but now have moved back into the top-five, currently holding the fourth overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
It's worth noting that the number one pick in the draft will belong to whoever loses the Raiders/Giants game that's taking place in the late window of games on Sunday so that is still yet to be determined. The Titans jumped the Browns in the draft order after Cleveland won its game against the Steelers in the early window of games.
Tennessee closes out its 2025 season with a road game against the 12-4 Jacksonville Jaguars, who are still fighting for both the AFC South title and the number one seed in the AFC playoffs. In other words, they have a lot to play for and should be able to win that game and help the Titans get better draft positioning.
With a high pick in April's draft, the Titans have a chance to truly add help for 2025 number one overall pick Cam Ward, who has shown a lot of poise in the back half of his rookie season. Getting him more impactful playmakers, protection upfront, and bolstering the defense would all be welcomed moves from the fan base.
