The Tennessee Titans appear primed to enter the 2025 NFL Draft with a fairly sizable need at quarterback. Last year's starter Will Levis failed to establish himself as a long-term solution, in fact, doing the opposite by forcing the Titans to replace him this offseason. New general manager Mike Borgonzi wasn't active at the position in free agency, at least not meaningly, as the lone move made was to sign veteran journeyman Brandon Allen.

All signs point to the Titans drafting Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward at No. 1 overall. The Titans will need to surround Ward with weapons, but Miami's off-script magician is the hands-on favorite to play in Nashville next season.

Pro Football Focus recently laid out the worst-case scenario in the draft for all 32 clubs. Unsurprisingly, the scenario chosen for the Titans sees them bypassing taking a quarterback early. Tennessee is not in a position to make such a decision.

Pro Football Focus: Titans must draft QB early

"New Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi quickly recognized that Tennessee’s offensive line ranked 30th in team PFF overall grade, landing Day 1 starters inside and out in Kevin Zeitler and Dan Moore Jr. in free agency," Bradley Locker wrote. "All eyes will now shift toward the No. 1 pick — and even if that’s not a quarterback, the team still needs one in the worst way.

Will Levis’ ecosystem was far from perfect last year, but he still struggled immensely, ranking last among qualifiers in PFF passing grade and second worst in turnover-worthy play rate. With Mason Rudolph heading back to Pittsburgh and there being a slim chance of signing Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson, Tennessee will likely need to add an arm that can push to start sooner rather than later. That very easily could be Cam Ward at first overall, but if not, then it would be a bit confusing not to select a quarterback at Pick No. 35, given the current state of the room."

It's tough to disagree. The Titans have done their due diligence on Penn State EDGE Abdul Carter and Colorado wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter as well, the other two prospects vying for No. 1 overall. A trade-down with the New York Giants appears dead. The stars appear to be aligning for the Titans to take a quarterback.
