The NFL Combine is in full swing, and with most NFL general managers and coaches gathered in one place, it is the perfect place for blockbuster trades involving 2025 NFL Draft picks to take shape. An NFL insider says that one of those deals could be getting worked out right now involving the Tennessee Titans and another team with a top five draft selection.
Earlier this week on the OTP, Dave McGinnis (A.K.A. Coach Mac) explained that in 2016, when he and Jeff Fisher were with the L.A. Rams, they used the NFL Combine as a chance to lay out the framework for their blockbuster trade with the Titans to get in a position to land Jared Goff at No. 1 overall.
It is no coincidence that over the week, NFL insiders have started to gather information, and there have been more and more rumors connecting the Titans to Abdul Carter and Travis Hunter. At the same time, there is an overwhelming sentiment that the Titans may not be in love with quarterback prospects Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders, meaning they could prefer to trade down with a QB-needy team to acquire more picks.
How can the Titans land one of the consensus top players in this draft and trade down? Well, long-time NFL insider Benjamin Allbright used wordplay to explain what he was hearing at the 2025 NFL Combine.
Would not be surprised to see a trade in the top 5 of this draft to get to #1

A large trade. A Giant one. Titanic if you will.
In case this tweet gets deleted at some point, Allbright says "Would not be surprised to see a trade in the top 5 of this draft to get to #1. A large trade. A Giant one. Titanic if you will."
It doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to decipher those clues, but it certainly sounds like Allbright is trying to cleverly convey that he expects the New York Giants to trade with the Titans to move up from the third spot in the draft to the first pick.
Allbright tweeted this draft hint after he said he is becoming increasingly confident that Matthew Stafford will be traded from the Rams to the Las Vegas Raiders, which was always one of the best outcomes for the Titans.
As each day ticks on, I move more and more toward Stafford leaves Rams for Raiders.

This doesn't seem like a shot in the dark. It is a very specific prediction from someone who has dropped hints and clues like this in the past.
This feels like an informed take based on the information Allbright is hearing and connecting the dots to find a logical conclusion. The picture he is painting is that the Giants wanted Stafford, but that deal isn't going to work out, and Stafford will end up with either the Raiders, or sticking with the Rams.
The fallout from that decision is that the Giants are going to be forced to draft a quarterback, and they need to jump over the Cleveland Browns to get their guy. The only way to do that is by trading up to the top spot, and he is hearing that a deal between the Giants and the Titans is gaining traction.
Earlier this week, Adam Schefter said that he doesn't expect the Titans to make a trade down in the immediate future, but things happen fast in the NFL, and things are lining up perfectly for Mike Borgonzi to strike while the iron is hot and get a deal done.
