Tennessee Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi met with the media on Tuesday for a routine end of season press conference. Borgonzi was asked a variety of questions. Most notably, he consistently discussed the team's ongoing search for their next coach.

Borgonzi was even asked about his well-documented relationship with head coaching candidate and current Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy. While Borgonzi was obviously vague when discussing the coaching search, he was a little more candid on other topics.

The most interesting non-coaching talking point centered around quarterback Will Levis. The overwhelming expectation has been that Levis won't return to Tennessee in 2026. Borgonzi claimed otherwise, saying the quarterback still has a role with the Titans.

The Titans seemingly made the decision to metaphorically move on from Levis once they drafted Cam Ward at No. 1 overall. Levis flamed out terribly as the team's starting quarterback in 2024. Borgonzi inherited the 33rd overall selection from the previous regime and decided to hand-pick Ward as his preferred QB.

Levis probably saw the writing on the wall heading into training camp. An offseason trade candidate, Levis made the personal decision to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery for a previous injury. He was placed on IR in July and hasn't been seen since.

Ward suffered an AC Joint Sprain in Sunday's Week 18 finale loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The initial diagnosis indicates he won't undergo surgery, which is a positive sign for his recovery. It still creates the possibility that Levis could receive some first-team reps throughout the early portion of the voluntary offseason program.

It's also within the realm of possibility that Borgonzi is simply bluffing. Levis is a viable trade candidate this offseason. The Titans would appreciate an opportunity to acquire more NFL Draft capital, especially for a player who isn't in their plans. Borgonzi is claiming Levis is in Tennessee's plans for now, but it's difficult to take that statement at face value.

Borgonzi could simply be reserving interests while planning to gauge Levis' trade value.
