The NFL's head coaching cycle has been dominated by the John Harbaugh sweepstakes. Harbaugh is one of 19 candidates the Tennessee Titans have shown interest in throughout their hiring process. General manager Mike Borgonzi is being thorough in his search for Brian Callahan's successor.
Multiple reports have indicated that Harbaugh had narrowed down his list of potential suitors to three. The Titans, New York Giants, and Atlanta Falcons are allegedly the openings Harbaugh possesses interest in. It's great news that the Titans' foundation has captured the interest of the most well-thought-of coaching candidate on the market.
Harbaugh met with the Giants on Thursday, according to various reports. The belief is that the Giants would have preferred to appoint him immediately. Dianna Russini of The Athletic is reporting that the Titans will meet with Harbaugh at his private residence on Thursday.
Report: Titans to meet with John Harbaugh on Thursday
John Harbaugh will fly out of Teterboro airport very soon back to his home, where he is scheduled to meet with the Tennessee Titans decision makers on Thursday, sources tell me. The meeting will serve as a formal in-person interview with the Titans at Harbaugh’s residence

It's a little strange that Harbaugh's reported interview with the Titans is scheduled to occur at his residence. If Harbaugh truly possesses interest in the Titans' vacancy, you'd assume he'd be interested in touring their facilities and headquarters. It's worth noting his meeting with the Giants occurred in their East Rutherford-based setting.
The Titans have positives to offer Harbaugh. Rookie quarterback Cam Ward looked like a long-term solution throughout 2025. Borgonzi is equipped with more than $100 million in cap space and the fourth overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Tennessee is a no income-tax state. The Titans are building a stunning new stadium. All of these factors likely combined to make Harbaugh intrigued enough to discuss the Titans' opening. Remember, there are nine head coaching vacancies around the league. Harbaugh is apparently only interested in three of them.
If the meeting between the Titans and Harbaugh happens, Borgonzi and Co. will attempt to sell him on Tennessee's pending rebuild. The Giants, who roster their own rookie quarterback in Jaxson Dart, in a bigger market, are trying to achieve the same. Harbaugh, together with his representation, will identify his potential fits.
It sounds like Harbaugh and the Titans will meet on Thursday.
