The Tennessee Titans are searching for their next head coach and the best possible option available this coaching cycle is John Harbaugh. The Ravens fired Harbaugh after 18 years of him leading their organization and now, understandably, he's in hot demand.
Titans fans immediately were interested in Harbaugh coming to Nashville to take over the reins given his experience in the league. It appears that Harbaugh is also interested in joining the Titans, as Mike Garafolo reported that "he likes what he sees in the Titans". He added that this isn't a confirmation that Harbaugh is going to Tennessee but that the Titans are "firmly in the mix".
As we wait for John Harbaugh to finalize his interviews, sources say he likes what he sees in the #Titans — Cam Ward, $100m+ in cap space, high picks, new stadium, GM Mike Borgonzi.

Not saying he’s going to Tennessee. Just that, for now, I expect them to be firmly in the mix. pic.twitter.com/9CgAi2ZwtV
Titans emerge as serious option for John Harbaugh, per Mike Garafolo
This is obviously exciting news for Titans fans and it does make sense that Harbaugh would be interested in this job. As Garafolo mentioned, the Titans have Cam Ward, who looked promising during his rookie year, plenty of cap space, and a lot to work with in roster-building this offseason.
The only other job that kind of compares is the Giants, who have a promising young quarterback in Jaxson Dart and high draft picks at their disposal. The other vacant jobs, however, would require Harbaugh to have to find a quarterback and, as we know, success in this league is linked to who your quarterback is. If Harbaugh already knows what he has with Ward, that right there is a major advantage for the Titans in this sweepstakes.
Titans fans are familiar with this position, as the team just hired a new head coach in 2024, giving Brian Callahan his first shot as a head coach. It didn't work and the Titans realized that early, canning Callahan after the team started 1-5 and now, here they are again, searching for someone to get them back to the playoffs.
Harbaugh could very well be that guy and if he's also interested in joining the Titans, maybe Tennessee will end up hiring this cycle's best head coaching option.
