The Tennessee Titans sent a huge delegation to Miami to watch Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward perform at Monday's Pro Day. Representing the Nashville-based club in attendance was general manager Mike Borgonzi, president Chad Brinker, head coach Brian Callahan, front-office assistants Dave Ziegler and Reggie McKenzie, offensive coordinator Nick Holz, and quarterbacks coach Bo Hardgree, among others.

Ward went through the motions, displaying arm strength, velocity, touch, and athleticism as required. He took snaps under center, showcasing his ability to take five-step drops. Ward also highlighted his ability to make off-platform plays via different arm motions, which really is his superhero trait as a prospect.

It's becoming likely that the Titans select Ward with the No. 1 overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft. Former general manager Mike Tannenbaum is now a contributor for ESPN. In his latest mock draft, Tannenbaum has the Titans selecting Ward.

Former NFL GM has Titans taking Cam Ward No. 1 overall

"While I'm not ready to completely write off Will Levis as an NFL starter, I think there's a clear separation in talent between him and Ward, Tannenbaum wrote. "This is an easy decision for Tennessee. And the team signing tackle Dan Moore Jr. and guard Kevin Zeitler -- moves that allow JC Latham to kick over to right tackle -- leads me to believe that it's heading in this direction."

What's particularly interesting about Tannenbaum's mock is that it strays from the traditional projections. It's designed to present what Tannenbaum himself would do as a former GM at each selection. Ward's skill-set is too enticing for the ex decision-maker to pass up.

"Ward has a sturdy frame (especially in his lower body) at 219 pounds, and he displays outstanding pocket movement," Tannenbaum continues. "I like how his eye level stays down the field as he moves around and avoids pressure. Last season, Ward led the country in TD passes (39) and passing plays of 20 or more yards (74)."

Ward was dynamic throughout the 2024 campaign for the Hurricanes. The West Columbia, Texas native threw for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns, and seven interceptions while leading Miami to a 10-win season. The Titans are doing their homework, having previously hosted Ward on a pre-draft visit in Nashville. Members of the contingent also took him out to dinner Sunday evening before the Pro Day, according to Paul Kuharsky. Tennessee is also likely to schedule a private workout in the coming weeks as well.
