While the Tennessee Titans haven’t been anywhere near the bottom tiers like the New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals, or Cleveland Browns, they also haven’t been anywhere near the top for what feels like a long time. It’s been four seasons since the Titans have experienced any kind of postseason football, and fans are hoping that it changes this coming season.
With a new coaching regime, an ascending franchise quarterback, and a new-look roster for the better, there is hope for Titans fans going into this season. For the last two seasons, the Titans have a combined 6-28 record and have finished last in the division the last three years.
The AFC South is being viewed as a two-team race between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Houston Texans, and rightfully so. But at the same time, the Titans have made a ton of upgrades to where they could turn things around quickly.
Tennessee Titans predicted to make the playoffs in 2026
Jarrett Bailey from SBNation recently put together a list of 61 bold predictions heading into the 2026 season, and one of them focuses on the Titans finally making the playoffs for the first time since 2021. Bailey has the Titans getting the final seed in the AFC to be part of the postseason dance.
"Every year, there is at least one team that makes the postseason that no one sees coming - I’ll say this year’s team will be the Tennessee Titans. I love the offseason they’ve had. New head coach Robert Saleh will turn that defense around, and Brian Daboll has a proven track record of elevating quarterbacks. With additions like Carnell Tate, Wan’Dale Robinson, John Franklin Myers, Alontae Taylor, and Cor’Dale Flott, Tennessee’s roster is much better than what it was at this time last season. Cam Ward takes a big leap forward and leads the Titans to their first playoff appearance since 2021." said Bailey.
Getting Robert Saleh as the new head coach, and calling the plays should bring this defense to new heights. As for the offense, they upgraded Cam Ward’s receiving core but more importantly, they got him the biggest upgrade in Brian Daboll as his new offensive coordinator.
While there will be growing pains throughout the season, if Tennessee heats up at the right time, they could very well play some postseason football. There is promise, but it will be time to finally find out what this Titans team is all about.
