Ward was occasionally inaccurate and indecisive. He's in a big spot versus the New York Jets in Week 1. With offensive coordinator Brian Daboll finally unveiling the playbook, don't be surprised if Ward thrives by throwing two (or more) touchdowns.
Amani Hooker intercepts Geno Smith
Titans safety Amani Hooker surprisingly didn't have any interceptions last season after logging a personal-best five in 2024. Expect that to immediately change in Week 1. Jets quarterback Geno Smith has thrown a league-leading amount of picks in the previous two combined seasons, and Hooker is a natural ball-hawk who is now surrounded by better teammates in the secondary.
Carnell Tate scores his first career touchdown
Rookie No. 4 overall pick Carnell Tate will be playing in his first game. The wide receiver out of Ohio State failed to register a single catch in the preseason. Remember when everyone overreacted to Ja'Marr Chase's rookie preseason performance? Expect Tate to immediately ease concerns by catching one of Ward's touchdown passes.
Tony Pollard rushes for 75+ yards
Coach Daboll is expected to field a new-look rushing attack. Tony Pollard is the consistent bellcow. Going for his fifth consecutive 1,000-yard season in a contract year, expect Pollard to run hard versus the Jets in Week 1 behind a revamped offensive line. Scatback Tyjae Spears will also play a sizable role in Daboll's offense.
Gunnar Helm catches Cam Ward's other touchdown
We predicted two touchdown passes for Cam Ward. With Tate catching one, the other could belong to sophomore tight end Gunnar Helm. Helm will play a larger role on offense this season following the departure of Chig Okonkwo. The big-bodied red zone threat had two touchdowns as a rookie, and is looking to expand that production in a better offense this year.
