The Tennessee Titans held their annual Blue and White Scrimmage on Friday evening. The scrimmage was open to the public, allowing fans the chance to see their team's progress after a week and a half of training camp under head coach Robert Saleh.
Not only does the event give fans a peek into the team's progress, but it also gives coaches another chance to test their players.
Some stepped up under the bright lights of Nissan Stadium, while others struggled to deliver.
Cam Ward looked in control in Brian Daboll's offense
For the most part, Cam Ward was able to stay within the rhythm of the offense. He hit his receivers with pinpoint accuracy and extended plays when he needed to. The second-year quarterback even showed off his arm elasticity, throwing from different platforms and arm angles.

After the scrimmage, Ward said, "I'm seeing the game in a different aspect, especially being with coach Daboll."
It's time to call it quits on Will Levis
The lowest point of the scrimmage came when current third-string quarterback Will Levis extended a play by rolling to his right before slipping and falling, taking a sack on the play. Of course, we're not closing the door on the former second-round pick's Titans career because of one play, but the scrimmage mishap was an example of a bigger problem.
Levis has fans holding their breath every time he drops back. That's not what NFL teams look for in a backup quarterback. Mitch Trubisky, on the other hand, was able to manage the offense without any major mistakes.
Gunnar Helm is a legitimate red zone threat
Tight end Gunnar Helm had one of the most impressive plays of the day, hauling in a toe-tap catch in the back of the end zone for a score. He even took some contact from a defender in the process, but he was still able to come down with the ball.
As a rookie, Helm caught just five passes in the red zone, ranking 38th in the NFL among all tight ends. On those catches, he totaled 31 yards and a touchdown. In his second season, the tight end could become a serious threat near the goal line.
Carnell Tate is a true WR1
Rookie Carnell Tate created a highlight play, bringing down a one-handed catch on a pass from Ward. After the scrimmage, Ward spoke about his connection with his top wide receiver.
Ward said, "That's stuff that I expect out of him. He's made some crazy plays, you know, in the offseason, just me and him throwing when I didn't have the best ball. He has great hands. He has great feel for space. I mean, what he did right there, that's nothing I haven't seen."
Tate has the body control, route-running prowess, and sure hands to be a top target in the NFL. If he can continue building his connection with Ward, the Titans could have a special duo on their hands.
