3 free-agent OTs the Titans could sign thanks to front-office ties

The Tennessee Titans are entering the offseason with a massive need at right tackle. The team drafted JC Latham with a top-10 pick to play left tackle last year, and though he was inconsistent, the early returns on Latham are fairly promising. At right tackle, they decided to bet on legendary offensive line coach Bill Callahan's ability to develop in-house option Nicholas Petit-Frere. That gamble failed miserably.

Petit-Frere was downright terrible. The former Ohio State blocker was credited with allowing 10 sacks (rank 139/141 per Pro Football Focus) and 41 pressures despite playing less than 620 offensive snaps. The Titans tried five different players at right tackle and none of those decisions were forced due to injury. They were simply searching for any living, breathing body that wouldn't totally derail the offense. They didn't find one.

New general manager Mike Borgonzi is tasked with acquiring a right tackle who can start right away. Whether that occurs via free agency or the 2025 NFL Draft is for the Titans' front-office and coaching staff to decide. The Titans do possess coaching and executive ties to various pending free agents who can provide a solution. We've identified three potential targets.

Jedrick Wills Jr. | Cleveland Browns

Jedrick Wills Jr. was once a promising blocker for the Cleveland Browns. Injuries, a failed position switch to left tackle, recurring injuries, and questions over his mindset/approach. Wills Jr. could be viewed as a buy-low candidate. Titans offensive line coach Bill Callahan spent four seasons (2020-23) as his position coach in Cleveland. His opinion will almost certainly be polled when Borgonzi and Co. are discussing potential free-agent targets.

Cam Robinson | Minnesota Vikings

Cam Robinson began the 2024 campaign with the AFC South rival Jacksonville Jaguars. Playing on an expiring contract for a losing team, he was dealt to the Minnesota Vikings at the trade deadline after their left tackle Christian Darrisaw suffered a season-ending injury. Robinson finished the season with a stellar 70.4 grade in pass protection, via PFF's grading system. He's a natural left tackle, so signing him would potentially kick Latham to right tackle, a scenario the Titans should be open to considering this offseason given his experience there.

Brandon Parker | Atlanta Falcons

If the Titans are willing to draft a right tackle within the opening 40 selections, they may only target a veteran swing tackle for depth and competition purposes. Brandon Parker was drafted in the third round of the 2018 draft by current vice president Reggie McKenzie. Assistant general manager Dave Ziegler also spent time in Vegas alongside Parker.
