The Tennessee Titans are on the bye week. Mike Borgonzi's 1-7 squad is improving, but the roster still remains in the rebuilding phase. The 2027 NFL Draft will be crucial to improving this team before moving into New Nissan Stadium next season.

Trading Jeffery Simmons to the Chicago Bears for two first-round picks (2027/28) and a fourth-round pick (2027) put even more focus on the upcoming NFL Draft. The Titans are currently slated to possess three top-35 selections. Borgonzi needs to use that haul to complete the rebuild.

With no Titans football to analyze this weekend, we've completed a three-round mock draft that helps complete the rebuild.

2027 NFL Mock Draft: 3-Round Titans haul moves the rebuild forward

Round 1 (No. 2): Colin Simmons, EDGE, Texas

Robert Saleh's defense needed a dynamic pass rusher even before the Simmons trade. Simmons' departure exasperated an already existing hole. Texas' Colin Simmons is probably the easiest evaluation of any edge prospect in this class.

Simmons rushes the passer with terrific energy and athleticism. He's been a multi-year producer for this Longhorns defense and has long been on the NFL's radar. Simmons is competing for the EDGE1 spot with South Carolina's Dylan Stewart.

Round 1 (No. 28): Zabien Brown, CB, Alabama

After benching Alontae Taylor, the Titans recently moved their high-priced cornerback to nickel. They grossly miscalculated his ability to play outside and are now making the best of a less-than-ideal situation. But misreading the role Taylor would play on defense has made an already existing need at cornerback even bigger.

Alabama's Zabien Brown projects as a potential starter opposite Cor'Dale Flott. Joshua Williams has played admirable in that spot, but isn't the long-term answer. Brown is fluid in coverage. He's also an aggressive run defender, and has a knack for generating crucial turnovers.

Round 2 (No. 34): Lance Heard, OT, Kentucky

Because the Titans are flush with draft capital, we wonder if Borgonzi will address an eventual need at left tackle before it becomes pressing. Current starter Dan Moore Jr. has actually met the expectations of what analysts once called an overpaid-contract. But if the Titans want an escape route out of Moore's $82 million deal anytime soon, they should have a succession plan primed.

Kentucky's Lance Heard has played like a first-round prospect this season. The former University of Tennessee transfer has been the most physically imposing and dominant tackle in college. Heard fits what Borgonzi looks for in offensive linemen (a Fernando Carmona-like mentality).

Round 3 (No. 66): LJ Martin, RB, BYU

Running backs Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears are on expiring contracts. Both have been mentioned in potential trade deadline deals. Even if the Titans end up keeping and re-signing Pollard, they should acquire a promising running back via the draft (Nicholas Singleton hasn't shown enough).

BYU running back LJ Martin has been nursing a lower-body injury, but is preparing to return to the lineup. The El Paso, Texas native rushed for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns last season while looking like a true bellcow. Martin is averaging a career-high 7.8 yards per attempt this year.
