No division has a better combined record than the NFC North's 22-8, and all four teams have either five or six wins. All four teams feel like they deserve to make the postseason, but if they don't make some additions, they could fail to maximize their potential playoff run.

The Tennessee Titans have already helped the Chicago Bears by trading them Jeffery Simmons, and now they have to hope that the Bears lose as many games as possible, or have a quick exit from the playoffs. The best way they can influence that is by making some trades to strengthen the other teams in the NFC North.

Both the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings are rumored to be interested in Jonathan Taylor, which means they would both make a lot of sense for Tony Pollard if they miss out on the Indianapolis Colts running back.

Titans should follow Jeffery Simmons deal with more NFC North chaos (for good reason)

Speaking of the Packers, there were some rumblings a few weeks ago that kicker Joey Slye might be a trade target. If any team was going to trade for a kicker, it might be the Packers, who have watched Trey Smack struggle in key moments.

While the Detroit Lions don't have too many needs on paper, one that popped up in a big way this previous weekend was linebacker. With All-Pro Jack Campbell injured, the Lions need someone who can immediately step in and hold down the fort. Dan Campbell admitted his team was looking around to see if there was a linebacker who could be available to help them get through this stretch, and one name came to mind.

Titans linebacker Cody Barton has been a solid player in 2026, but with Anthony Hill firmly entrenched as a starter, and Cedric Gray pushing for more snaps, maybe this is the perfect time for the Titans to move on from this linebacker logjam gracefully.

If the Titans are active at the trade deadline, they need to weaken the Chicago Bears

While the Titans could also try to move wide receiver Calvin Ridley, there really isn't a perfect fit for him in the NFC North. If they move him, he is much more likely to end up on the West Coast with a team like the L.A. Rams, the San Francisco 49ers, or maybe the Las Vegas Raiders.

At the end of the day, the Titans have to do what makes the most sense for them, and the best offer on the table should be the one they take. However, if everything is equal, they should do everything in their power to make the rest of the NFC North as strong as possible.

That's what gives them the best chance at improving the first-round pick they received from the Bears this year.
