With the Tennessee Titans having a defensive-minded coach in Robert Saleh running the team, fans can expect the Titans to have one of the best defenses in the near-future. When you think back to the dysfunction the Titans have been stuck in, there is a ton of promise moving forward with a new regime.

Now granted, the Titans have done every single thing wrong prior this new regime coming in. They have managed to add some valueable pieces on both sides of the ball. One of those players is offensive lineman Peter Skoronski, who the Titans drafted with the 11th overall pick in 2023.

Coming out of Northwestern, the Titans needed to build up their offensive line and Skoronski has been solid since coming into the league. The Titans may sign him to a record-breaking extension this offseason.

While the Titans clearly have to fix the offensive line, especially since they have a hopeful franchise quarterback in Cam Ward, what if the Titans had gone in a different direction in that draft three years ago?

Tennessee Titans get defensive stud in 2023 NFL redraft

Ryan Wilson from CBS Sports put together a 2023 NFL redraft and Wilson has the Titans somehow getting a major steal in cornerback Devon Witherspoon, who originally went 5th overall to the Seattle Seahawks.

"I thought about Jaxon Smith-Njigba here, but the Titans have focused a lot of resources on wide receiver, even if this might be Calvin Ridley's last season in Nashville. Witherspoon, meanwhile, would start outside (opposite Alontae Taylor) or in the slot (or both) in this secondary for Robert Saleh." said Wilson.

The three-time Pro Bowl and Super Bowl champion cornerback has become one of the best corners in the game up in the Pacific Northwest, and has been a cornerstone piece for the Seahawks. Now, it does help that he has Mike MacDonald as a head coach, but if he was part of a Robert Saleh-led defense in Nashville, that would have been a match made in heaven.

Witherspoon can drop back into coverage, both in man-to-man and in zone, and he can also provide a great blitz to create pressure and even bring down the quarterback as well. If the Titans would have had the chance to acquire Witherspoon back in 2023, they would have one of the best corners in the game which would have made their secondary more solidified.
