Laremy Tunsil, OL

In 2016, new Tennessee Titans GM Jon Robinson had a difficult choice on paper.

He could either:

A. Draft Tunsil with the 1st overall pick and then move Taylor Lewan to right tackle

B. Trade down and amass picks to help turn around a team that won 5 combined games in the last two years.

He made the right choice, but it is interesting that even when he had a chance to take Tunsil when the gas mask video came out, he still chose Jack Conklin.

Well like it or not, everything tells you that Robinson made the right choice. Since then Taylor Lewan has been a 3-time Pro Bowl left tackle and Jack Conklin has been an All-Pro at right tackle.

Meanwhile, Laremy Tunsil has been fine lining up at guard and tackle, but nowhere near the amazing, generational OT that everyone thought he was going to be. That is exactly why the Miami Dolphins are reportedly including him in their fire sale.

The good news is that now there is a place for Tunsil to start on the Titans OL, and that place is left tackle…and then right guard.

Just like the Titans did when they moved Ryan Tannehill‘s money around to make a deal work, the front office could hopefully find a way to turn Tunsil into a reasonably priced fix at left tackle after Dennis Kelly‘s struggles.

Then, when Taylor Lewan comes back let Tunsil compete for the right guard position with Nate Davis and whoever else is playing there (maybe Kelly after they start Tunsil at LT).
