5. The right kind of continuity

The Tennessee Titans return 9 of 11 starters on one of the league’s best defenses in 2018. Continuity is always a good thing when you are bringing back players who worked so well together the year before.

Having said that, the potential for a huge boom is there thanks to the two positions the Titans are replacing and the players they have decided to replace them with.

I will get a little more in to what I expect from those players later in the article, but the important things is that the dominant units on the defense are still in tact.

Linebacker and defensive back are nearly untouched after the offseason with the only change being an improvement on depth with Iowa’s Amani Hooker being drafted as a NB/safety.

The Tennessee Titans made a strong effort to increase the production on the defensive line with Jeffery Simmons coming in to upgrade the DT spot next to Jurrell Casey sooner or later.

On the outside, Harold Landry and Sharif Finch are back and expected to do even more this year. Meanwhile, Kamalei Correa, D’Andre Walker and Derrick Roberson will all battle it out for two spots on the final roster.

Oh yea, and the Titans added Cameron Wake who at worst is a designated pass rusher who has never had less than 6 sacks in a season and at best is an every down player that helps coach and develop the young EDGEs on this roster on how to maximize their NFL potential.

Continuity in all the right places and a valiant effort to get better on the outside is as much as you could ask for with any front office and Tennessee Titans fans should be extremely excited.

TL;DR: There is a chance that the Tennessee Titans front office made the defense even better by upgrading at the two positions that somewhat struggled last year.
