Why is this big news? Well, Matt Miller is a pretty well respected NFL Draft writer from Bleacher Report, who has several connections to current and past NFL front offices.

If you trust Miller and you are a Titans fan, you will be pleased to here that he was on Miller’s short list for the top potential GMs this year. (The Titans are also looking at another person on this list, Chris Polian).

Not only is he on the list, but according to a recent tweet, he says: “Ballard is No. 1 on my list of GM candidates.”

  • My quick analysis of Ballard was this a week ago:

“Kept Justin Houston last year and has found a way to build that offense and defense without any big, splashy moves.”

I am doing a follow post on this to show some potential moves that are unique to Ballard, including a potential return to Tennessee for Eric Berry.

Overall, it is almost impossible to hear a bad thing about Ballard, and his success with a “small area” franchise should also be a great draw. There is no reason on the surface why he shouldn’t be hired and he is definitely one of the names that deserves a lot of attention.
