Martin Mayhew
According to multiple sources, Mayhew not only has drawn interest, he already had his interview today.
For those of you who don’t know, Mayhew was the Detroit Lions GM since 2009 and during his time in the NFL he guided his team to the playoffs and added several smart pieces to that team.
Under his leadership the team’s first round picks have been Matthew Stafford, Ndamukong Suh, Nick Fairley, Riley Reiff, Ziggy Ansah, Eric Ebron, and Laken Tomlinson. Three of those players look like superstars, and only Eric Ebron has really ended up leaning towards the bust column.
FanSided
While all that sounds great, there are some that don’t think that he is as great as his results say.
Former Titans and Lions offensive lineman Daniel Looper tweeted his response following the announcement that he was interviewed:
“Would be the worst thing they could ever do. #stooge”
So, while he looks good on paper, fact checking with former coaches and players may lead to him being passed on.
Jon Robinson
According to other reports, one of the men behind the Tampa Bay Buccaneers rebuild Jon Robinson is a prime target. I really like this potential hire and I even wrote about it about it earlier.
Robinson was one of my top targets in this post (which you should check out as it details my thoughts on other candidates).

Here my brief thoughts on him from that post:
“Was key in drafting the key cogs to the team in New England, and has had some great picks with the Bucs.”
There are a lot worse backgrounds you could have than spending a decade building a dynasty in New England and then almost immediately helping Tampa Bay turn around their franchise by adding talent around Jameis Winston and getting strong defensive players.
