Jevon Kearse made his first appearence to Titan’s camp since 2003 on Sunday, and apparently he likes what he sees. The last season Kearse wore a Titan’s uniform, Tennessee was a playoff winning team a year removed from an AFC title appearance, and Jevon was averaging over 10 sacks a year when healthy. Early in Kearse’s second tour of duty he thinks the Titan’s defense has a chance to mirror the successes of his first stint. A few of his key teammates agree:
Kearse, sees a group that could rival the defenses Tennessee had in 1999 and 2000 when the Titans [...]

Titans Camp Notes 07.26.08
A good crowd gathered at Baptist Sports Park on Saturday to see the team back on the field, braving some pretty oppressive heat and humidity in the process. The practice was pretty typical, with a lot of the guys going through the motions, but there were a few things that stuck out:
Albert Haynesworth and Chris Johnson were both in camp finally, giving Titans fans their first up close glimpse of the first round pick. Johnson looked good in his first day, showing flashes of his speed in non-contact drills and during kickoff returns. Jevon Kearse was still excused from [...]
Albert Haynesworth has signed his one-year tender that will keep him in Titans blue for this upcoming season, and hopefully get him on the field in time for the start of training camp this afternoon. The deal will come with certain incentives that will not allow the team to franchise him again next year if Albert reaches them. The rest of the details can be found here. And here is another nice piece from The Tennessean about how this whole ordeal may play out. Enjoy!
Training Camp…
It starts tomorrow. And we couldn’t be more excited. This is what we’ve been waiting for since that ugly loss to the Bolts’ back in January. A measly six points…Ugh.
Time to move on though. Here are a few things to keep an eye on over the course of the next month…
1. The progress of the new offense:
Mike Heimerdinger is back to handle the offense after a three-year absence, and does he ever have his hands full. Gone are the day of Steve, Eddie, Wycheck and Mason. Instead, Vince Young and a cast of characters will lead this squad. Bringing tight [...]
ESPN.com’s Jeffri Chadiha posted his annual list of the league’s 10 “Can’t Win Without…” players. Titan’s defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth made the list at #6:
“Haynesworth is the lone defender on this year’s list because he had the biggest impact on his team in 2007. When he served a five-game suspension and played below his potential in 2006, the Titans’ defense didn’t intimidate too many opponents. When Haynesworth returned last season with obvious focus and determination, the Titans’ pass rush and run defense started giving teams fits. The bottom line here: When this kid has his head right, the Titans’ defense [...]
VY News
A couple of things that I thought you might enjoy for your weekend reading…
First, The University of Texas has decided to retire Vince Young’s #10 football jersey. He will be one of nine former Longhorn athletes to have his number retired at ceremonies during the 2008-2009 school year. Also being honored is former NCAA Basketball National Player of the Year and current Oklahoma City/Seattle Supersonic, Kevin Durant.
VY is responsible for one of the greatest single game performances by any athlete, on any level in his complete dismantling of the USC Trojans (Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush, fellow Titan LenDale White) in [...]
An Introduction…
Welcome to the new Titan Sized Blog. This is Nick Bishop and Kellen Barton and we’ll be the main contributors to this blog from here on out. Hopefully there are some folks that have read this blog in the past, and will continue to read and contribute. We also hope that we will get more people involved over the course of the season. Before we get into some issues in the very near future we’d like to give a little bit of an overview of how we hope this thing will work.
We’d like to take a bit of a different [...]
